2012~2020
Within Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, we have already created partnerships and delivery mechanisms that can easily be adapted to fulfil the role required for our LEP.
I am the lead officer supporting the Employment and Skills Board (ESB), as well as working across Cornwall Council on a range of employment and skills work. I have a background in both economic development and adult education, whilst also having a number of diverse roles such as youth worker, Brownie Leader and cake baker!

My role involves providing support to the Employment and Skills Board (ESB), as well as working across Cornwall Council on a range of employment and skills initiatives. I have a background in skills funding, having worked as an Account Adviser with the Skills Funding Agency where I worked in partnership with providers and stakeholders in the delivery of projects to raise skills levels both for employed and unemployed individuals in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Prior to this, my background was in Human Resources where my last role was as an HR Business Partner for the Manufacturing Function. This role involved, amongst other duties, development of organisation business plans to support strategic operational need and development and implementation of a people development framework to ensure skills gaps were addressed and effective succession planning was in place.

My main role is to support a sustainable improvement in the skills base in the business community of Cornwall and IoS. I have worked in economic development and project development in Cornwall for 20 years, having been a teacher before that. Away from work I teach guitar, play squash and, occasionally, get to climb the odd mountain.
